Charles Edward Frost was born on April 28, 1915 in Orono, Maine to William Henry Frost (P.E.I., Canada) and Katherine Maher Frost (Bangor, Maine).
He was schooled in Revere, Somerville and Everett, MA. He met and Married Alma Marie Fredrickson of Everett, MA in 1934. They were together for almost 71 years. They had four children: Russell, Warren, Charlene and Bruce.
Mr. Frost went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. While in the postal service he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in N. Africa and Italy until October of 1945. As a member of the postal service, he worked in Everett and Boston, Ma. He then served as Assistant Superintendant and Superintendant of the Stoneham, MA Post Office. He retired from the postal service after 33 years service.
He and his wife Alma took up residence in Grafton, N.H. in 1963. They were most happy working and roaming the woods together until Alma passed away in 2005. Mr. Frost (currently 98) now lives alone. His faithful dog, Duchess, passed earlier this year. He recently rescued Claire, a Border Collie and Lab mix, from Tennessee. They have become close friends already.
He spends a large portion of his time writing and enjoying the woods of New Hampshire. As he has a wont to say, always give an honest days work to whatever and whoever you are with and be ready to give a bit more. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well. Those maxims are followed to this day by his children.
One of his greatest joys is reading his readers comments each day.
