Do you ever stop to think of those good old days
When you were a kid with sisters and brothers,
A Mom and a Dad, and relatives all around;
Forget about the TV and all of that jazz.
Did you have a piano or maybe an organ?
Did you play a harmonica just for the fun of it?
Was scrub hockey in the street with the kids
Next door one of your favorite pastimes?
Was it beaches or swimming holes that
You found were the best, or car rides, near or far,
For a big ice cream soda and a hot dog or two.
Don’t your mouth water for all that and more?
Remember grade school that you thought was not
Fun. Do you look at the snapshots now with
Wonder ~ where are they and what are they
Doing, now that you all are old grads?
Family and friends, are they all spread around?
Do you long for the old days? Let me tell you,
My friends, don’t let them go far. Keep them
Close as you can. They were your World then.
They are your World now.

Already missing them… Very well said.
