I know who and what I am and what I’ve been.
The unknown is where I’m going down the line,
But then, is not that the mystery for one and all?
I’ve tried to see the future. There is not a sign.
I will leave it alone. I know it isn’t for me to see.
The present is what I have and follow to the end.
The voices of persuasion whisper to you and me:
Look to the future and riches and all they extend.
If we listen and follow their words of advice, will
Our future be brighter? Yes, it may, so it seems,
But it’s all a gamble, you may win, you can lose.
I know who and what I am, and all I have been.
What I do now is a measure of me as a man.
Do I take a chance, that I know will brighten my
life, or hear the voices of persuasion of those
Who have been there and say, just go on and try?
I have listened to all and to He above all, Who
Has brightened my life, never let me down.
Life in the future has been preordained
By the voice of persuasion wearing a crown.
