I came, I saw, I conquered my macho side.
Surely now I know, life’s much the same around.
The ‘Center’ in which I live now is well known
And I’ve been assured the best that can be found.
Nothing’s perfect of course, I don’t expect that,
A soft female voice wishes me, ”good morning” and
“I have to check your pad”. My pad is miles away
of course. She smiles and says, “roll to the wall” and
“roll back if you please”. I ask, “why check my pad?
The police can do that”. “No” says she,” it’s my job. “You
are wet you see”, and pulls my covers away from me.
Now, I am embarrassed, what is left for me to do.
She answered that for me. “I’ll see you tomorrow at
Seven AM to take a shower, won’t that be nice?”
I am stymied, what sort of place is this, but she
is waiting on the dot. I did not say that will suffice.
That girl showered me, O’ it was from afar;
but man, I thought I’d died and gone to Heaven
while being showered at
the Center’s giant whirlpool spa.
Well Reader, do not be mistaken,
I have not overstepped any bounds.
The Center is not a house of ill repute;
pay no attention to sights and sounds.
It is famous for rehabilitation of
damaged bodies and muscular strength long
Now graduation has left me whole and strong.
Well folks, I no longer think I was being imposed upon;
the attention I got was the best in my life.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner served on time,
after that, all was a bonus here in the Center life.
