Another year, another time, life goes on, unchanging.
God in His wisdom left blanks, for man to fill.
Man took the task, made each day, one to twenty-four
Hours to complete a day, enough for work and still
Have hours left for play, to sleep eight, maybe more.
Has man forgot, does not he remember, the hill, the cross,
The nails, the hammers where Christ died to save him?
Man lives on, breaking all God’s rules, why are we such fools?
I’ve sung my song, and will go on, to the leader of the band,
To take up my wrongs and ask that He understand.
Perhaps give me a cross to bear without hammer and nails.
And show me the way to travel from now on with a lighter
Load, because of what He has forgiven.
I thank you my Jesus, from my heart and soul.
You have me whole once again.
