Wouldn’t it be now, that a good friend is taking leave
of me. I don’t know where he’s headed nor where he
will be. I suppose now, you would be thinkin’, if he
be such a good friend, why does he not confide in you.
Maybe I should qualify the words, ‘good friend’.
You see, it is an up and down thing between us, sort
of climatic, I will say. There are times we two agree,
more days that we do not. The weather can be a factor.
My friend may say, not so! Okay I will call my shots.
First of all, I call him Mr. January, that is about where
winter really starts. January, February, then, March,
those be expensive months, snow, sleet and ice.
Mr. January loudly calls, ”what about winter sports?”.
Go to Switzerland, my reply, to get your winter fun
and take February and March with you. Come back
in the Spring, my good friend. We will live together happy
for the best part of the year, my good friend,
in the summer sun.
