Readers, when I write, I wish the words to be ‘me’
And to reflect what I am, thoughtful, truthful,
As near as I can be. Please remember license,
The poet’s of course, to make the write fruitful
For all to enjoy and return to read still more.
Wait now, one more thing for you to consider,
Is a writer’s boon. It’s your input, pro or con.
That’s all for now, have I made you a believer?
If I have, the proof’s in the pudding, follow me,
As I write, come along. Cheer me, or if in doubt,
Tell me, show me just where I’ve gone wrong,
Make me a believer that you’ve found me out.
I’ll go to the train depot where I have a pass
And look for one called ‘my train of thoughts’
I’ve ridden that train, a great many times o’er.
It’s a teacher, many lessons I’ve been taught.
Somewhere along the line I got off of the track
And lost my perspective along with my train
Of thought. I’ve learned a lesson I will pursue;
I’ll hold to my perspective and to my name.
In my writing, I’ll take a bus, no track or train
Station to clutter my thinking, I’ll remain sane.
Dear readers forgive me for switching the rails
I hope you’ll keep on reading my stuff.
I am not an intellectual. I prefer not to pretend.
