It’s a winter moonlit night, ground barely snow covered.
Sparkling like a newly cut diamond, perfect for a walk
Would you dear accompany me, for just a little stroll?
Not very far, maybe three turns around the block.
You know you really want to; it’s our favorite thing to do.
On such a night we enjoy the chirping of the night birds
And the quiet movement of the animals as they pad about
Their home, isn’t that the sweetest sound you ever heard
Thank you dear, I have enjoyed this walk-about, no end,
Tucked away in my memory is, a night walk, you and me
But times moves on, as it will, things change, you are gone
I’m left alone, what will happen now, is life’s mystery
When our God puts in His call to join Him in His home
It is just as He has planned it all, those many years ago
One may be taken, the other to be left alone but, with
His memories left intact, to remember and let them flow.
Yea, she has left me, with my memories I live alone
Yet, I am never solo as I walk about my home and woods
Her spirit strolls along beside me, and is with me in our home
We are happy together, no matter where it may be. The birds
Welcome us with song, small animals play hide and seek.
Yes, we are happy to be together, there will be no dirge
God has provided for everyone, the strong, mild and meek
It matters not who or what you are, you are welcome,
You are welcome to His home
